Tragedy strikes reality TV

I crack a lot of jokes in this blog, but reality TV became no laughing matter for the participants of a Saeta network reality show, "A Challenge to the Heart," in Uruguay that stages competitions for groups who want to win money for various charities. In a tragic accident, a train the group of 200 was pushing and pulling in a demonstration of strength picked up too much speed and killed seven and injured several others when it ran them down. The death toll rose to eight today when an older woman died in a Uruguayan hospital. It makes you think about the price we pay and the extremes we will go to for cheap thrills and entertainment.
